Carbon Management Case Study

How GCX Africa contributed towards the project’s outcomes

GCX Africa has been measuring Discovery’s carbon footprint on a quarterly basis. The results are reported in a clear and understandable manner, and gaps are identified. Specific exclusions or inclusions are identified and justified, assumptions disclosed, and appropriate references provided for the methodologies applied and the data sources used.

GCX Africa also tracks intensity KPIs with the aim of embedding these into the relevant person’s role at the company. KPIs are valuable in giving feedback on emission reduction initiatives that form part of Discovery’s drive to be sustainable and carbon management is a a key aspect to this.

Company targets and objectives

Discovery aims to decrease their environmental footprint by measuring, understanding and monitoring their direct environmental impact, and finding innovative ways to improve their operational efficiencies.
